In the 1960s, creativity researcher George Land conducted a study with 1,600 five-year-olds in which 98 per cent of the children fell into the ‘highly creative’ category. Dr Land retested each participant in five-year increments. By the time the same children were 25 years old, only 2 per cent were still in the highly creative range. In Dr Land’s words, ‘non-creative behaviour is learned’.

Well, I don’t want to be taught that. But apart from that, I never stop learning.
